Play Resumes

With hunger satisfied, the players have returned to the felt and the cards are once again in the air.

Looking around Crown Poker Room it appears that the Celebrity Challenge may be reaching a conclusion as a large group of slightly intoxicated celebrities are making a lot of noise around one of the tables in the High Rollers area. Meanwhile Van Marcus and Jarred Solomon are currently heads-up for the H.O.R.S.E Aussie Millions title.

Khouiss' Chips Find Their Way Back Home

Sam Khouiss has recovered the chips he lost to Jason Gray just before the dinner break. This time the chips were all in preflop. Gray had raised to 825 from middle position, before Khouiss shoved from the big blind. Gray deliberated before making the call.

Khouiss: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Gray: {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}

The board landed {A-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} and Khouiss doubles up. He's now up to 33,000 with Gray back to 6,000.

Zhi Hong Ma has just eliminated Daniel Kochan from today's tournament. All the chips were in preflop with Kochan's {K-?}{Q-?} dominated by the {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts} of Ma.

The board fell {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} and Kochan can't find a queen to save him and is sent to the rail.

Karambis Does Broadway

Larry Karambis has emerged from the pack to be amongst the chip leaders after a pretty sick hand went his way. The chips went in on a flop of {10-Clubs}{3-Spades}{A-Diamonds} with Karambis holding {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts} for top pair, but he found himself up against the {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades} of Dean Nyberg for a set of tens.

Karambis would need big help, and it arrived when the {Q-Diamonds} hit the turn and the {K-Clubs} fell on the river to make Karambis a broadway straight. Nyberg's set is cruelly cracked and he is eliminated as Karambis leaps to 40,000 chips.

Gray Hits The "Hachem"

The action flop was {4-Spades}{5-Spades}{6-Spades} as Jonathan 'xMONSTERxDONGx' Karamalikis and Jason Gray committed their chips into the middle.

Karamalikis showed {A-Spades}{6-Diamonds} for top pair-top kicker and the nut flush draw, however he ran into the "Hachem" as Gray tabled {3-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} for the straight -- a hand made famous by Joe Hachem as his winning hand at the 2005 World Series of Poker Main Event.

The turn was the {2-Hearts} and river the {5-Clubs} and Gray doubled up to 15,000 chips.
