Mizzi Musters Double Up

Catching the action on the flop of {8-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{5-Hearts} Bruno Portaro led out for 800 and was met with a reraise from Sorel Mizzi to 3,200. Portaro made the call, and when the {4-Diamonds} landed on the turn all the money went in.

Mizzi: {7-Hearts}{6-Clubs}
Portaro: {J-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

The river blanked for Portaro landing the {2-Clubs} and left him stranded on 3,400 as Mizzi moved up to 38,000 in chips.

Khouiss Can't Find One-Outer

Richard "chufty" Ashby Flushes Khouiss
Richard "chufty" Ashby Flushes Khouiss
Sam Khouiss opened from late position and was immediately met with an all in reraise from Richard Ashby. Khouiss made the call and tabled {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} to be behind Ashby's {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds}.

The board on the turn left Khouiss drawing to one out with it reading {9-Spades}{3-Hearts}{5-Spades}7s}. With everyone crowding round the river would fall a dramatic ten, but ill-fated for Khouiss it was the {10-Spades} giving Ashby a spade flush and the much needed double up.

With Khouiss down to 13,000 and uttering under his breath, Ashby moved up to over 27,000 in chips.

Kassis The Quiet Achiever

Mark Kassis Flying Under The Radar
Mark Kassis Flying Under The Radar
Mark Kassis has been flying under the radar today. Currently, he is sitting nicely placed with 62,000 chips on the feature table.

However, he is in some very good company with Steve Leonard and Sorel Mizzi on his direct right, while he has Nick Binger and Antonis Kambouris on his direct left.

As we speak Kassis is enjoying a nice massage under the bright lights of the feature table.

Vakili Eliminated

Sam Vakili
Sam Vakili
A short-stacked Sam Vakili moved all in over a raise from Michael Guttman and was called by Guttman holding {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}.

Vakili was in a race situation, but ran into Guttman's two-headed coin when the board fell {6-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{3-Hearts}. With Vakili now an onlooker, Guttman is sitting just under average with 38,000 in chips.

Bubble Time Hitting Players

Play has been fairly tight over the last orbit or so with players very understandable that they are close to the money bubble of 18th spot.

Here is a list of the tournament short-stacks as a few of them walk the floor to see who is in a similar situation:
Stuart Taylor - 12,500
Nick Binger - 15,000
Grant Levy - 15,000
Zhi Hong Ma - 19,000
Sam Khouiss 19,000
Tony Dunst - 21,000

With such a world-class field competiting in today's tournament it could be some time before we reach the payouts!

Binger Busts

Nick Binger moved all in for 8,800 from the button and found a caller in Peter Rho out of the big blind.

Binger: {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}
Rho: {A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}

The board filled out {J-Spades}{9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{6-Spades} and Binger hit the rail as Rho climbed to 67,000 in chips.
