Cowboy Up

Carter Gill
Carter Gill
Carter Gill is threatening to go wire to wire with the chip lead. He has knocked out another opponent. This time the victim was Antonio Naves. The two players got it all in on a board of {3-Spades} {Q-Spades} {9-Diamonds}. Naves tabled {K-Spades} {Q-Clubs} for top pair, but Gill had an overpair -- the very same {K-Clubs} {K-Diamonds} that tablemate Johnny Chan couldn't get to work. The turn {7-Spades} breathed some life into Naves by giving him a flush draw, but Gill's cowboys held up when the river bricked out {4-Clubs}.

Naves is out. Gill now has 87,000 and remains far and away the chip leader.
