Brett Parise Eliminated in 5th Place

Immediately after the break and on a board of {A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} Joe Hachem leads out for 45,000 and Brett Parise pushes his remaining chips all in. Joe makes a pretty quick call and we have a monster pot up for grabs!

Brett: {A-Hearts}{8-Spades}
Joe: {A-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

Brett held the lead with two pair and Joe would need a queen or a nine on the river to win the hand.

The {9-Hearts} arrives and it's good to be a world champion as Joe escapes with a miracle river, making a bigger two pair to eliminate the unlucky Brett Parise, who won the inaugural APPT Event in Manilla this year, is eliminated from the final table in 5th place.

Playing For Charity

The winner of today's event will have $50,000 donated to the charity of their choice. During the break we discovered that Greg Raymer is supporting The Bubel/Aiken Foundation who work on programs for young people that have special needs. Joe Hachem is representing The Shane Warne Foundation who provide assistance for underprivileged kids.

Dinner Break

With the excitement of that last hand, the players have left the feature table studio to take their dinner break. We'll be back in 60 minutes!

Scotty Nguyen Cannot Be Touched!

Greg Raymer makes a raise pre-flop to 11,000 and Scotty Nguyen says "You got it baby" before making a call anyway.

The flop is {K-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} and Greg leads for 18,000. Scotty cuts his chips down aggressively on the table before declaring himself all in. Greg insta-calls and shows {K-Spades}{J-Diamonds} for a flopped top two pair and Scotty is going to need some help with his {K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}.

The turn is a complete brick with the {2-Clubs} and Scotty now needs one of the three remaining queens to stay alive.

There is a pause for effect before the river lands a miraculous {Q-Clubs} and Scotty spikes a bigger two pair to double through in devastating fashion.

"I cannot be touched baby!" comes the cry from Scotty as he rakes in the monster pot, leaving Greg to chatter away at his own misfortune.

Eric Assadourian Eliminated in 6th Place

The flop of {K-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{7-Clubs} looked innocent enough, but it sparked a betting war between Joe Hachem and Eric Assadourian. The money went all in and both players were on the draw:

Joe: {J-Clubs}{6-Clubs}
Eric: {8-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

Joe held the best hand with a pair and a better flush draw, while Eric was going to need to hit a pair or make his straight.

The {10-Clubs} on the turn gives both players a flush but Joe is still in front with the king-jack-high flush. For a moment the players mention that Eric still has some outs with a straight-flush draw, however they then erupt in laughter when Joe points out that he holds both of the straight-flush outs that Eric would require to make a better hand.

The meaningless {A-Hearts} on the river sends Eric home early and Joe extends his lead over the rest of the table.

Ziv Bachar Eliminated in 7th Place

A short-stacked Ziv Bachar pushes all in from late position and Greg Raymer comes over the top from the button for all of his chips. Both blinds fold and we see a classic race situation.

Bachar: {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}
Raymer: {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}

The flop of {5-Clubs}{6-Spades}{J-Diamonds} offers no help for Raymer and Bachar is looking good for a double up. However the {K-Clubs} on the turn leaves Bachar drawing to two sevens on the river to survive. The {2-Hearts} sends Ziv Bachar, the winner of the APPT Seoul Main Event, to the rail in 7th place and Raymer adds more chips to his stack.

Brett Parise Doubles Up

On a flop of {10-Spades}{K-Clubs}{5-Clubs} the money went into the middle and the following cards were shown:

Eric Assadourian: {Q-Clubs}{2-Clubs}
Brett Parise: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}

Brett holds the lead with a pair of kings and Eric jokes about waiting all day for a chance to lay a bad beat on someone as he is looks for a club to eliminate Brett.

The {A-Hearts} on the turn and {6-Diamonds} on the river means Eric misses his draw, and Brett gets a handy double up in a pot worth around 190,000.
