Toma Closes in on Kanaan

Michael Kanaan had been leading by a clear margin for quite some time, but Tsugunari Toma has had a great level. He just jumped into second place with just under a million chips.

Toma raised preflop to 23,000 from the cutoff and Ying Kit Chan called from the button. Jacques Zaicik called from the big blind creating three-way action.

The flop came down {K-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and the action was checked to Chan who bet 30,000. Toma was the only caller and the turn was the {10-Diamonds}. This time Toma check-called 50,000 and the river was the {2-Spades}. Toma checked once again and Chan threw out a bet of 85,000. He showed {A-Spades}{9-Hearts} after Toma called, but the latter won with {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}.
