Life is Good For Cheong

Joseph Cheong is at it again after finishing third in the ACOP Warm Up for the equivalent of US$93,718 just yesterday. The young pro was a little late, but that not hurt his chances in the slightest. He doubled up on the second hand he got dealt.

Cheong explained to us how a Korean gentleman raised to 275 from early position, and the action was folded to the third-place finisher in the 2010 World Series of Poker Main Event. Cheong three-bet to 825 with {3-}{5-} suited, and the initial raiser four-bet to 2,525. Cheong called.

The flop brought out {7-}{4-}{2-} with two diamonds and one heart after Cheong had called the preflop reraise. The initial raiser bet 2,600 and Cheong called.

On the turn the {A-Hearts} hit, bringing out a backdoor flush draw. Cheong's opponent checked and the American pro bet 5,600. Cheong explained how his opponent raised leaving himself with just 8,000 left behind. Cheong moved all in and his opponent called with {A-}{K-}.

The river brought a blank and Cheong's took down the pot with a winning straight.
