Lucky River for Liu

Level 12 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Changyang Liu
Changyang Liu

Changyang Liu just busted a player and his stack is over 350,000 in chips. He was found all in preflop with {a-Spades}{j-Clubs} and was in a difficult spot with his opponent holding {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}.

Liu's opponent had him outkicked and in trouble with the board reading {2-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{10-Spades}. However, the river was the {j-Spades}, one of the three outs Liu needed to win the pot and he sent his opponent to the rail and claimed the pot in one fell swoop.

APPT National Day 1A Opening Flight Underway

Level 12 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

All the action is not restricted to the High Roller, with the rescheduled opening flight, Day 1A, of the APPT National also underway. So far 87 players have ponied up the KRW 1,500,000 entry fee, with the format offering players a single re-entry per flight, and 84 of those players are still in contention.

Players are returning from their first scheduled break of the day and several notables are in attendance, with PokerStars Festival Korea Main Event Champion Tae Hoon Han, Russia's Konstantin Pogodin, China's Liang Song and Macau's Huidong Gu just some of those in the running.

Players start with 30,000 in chips and have 30-minute levels in which to use them, playing down until the money with 12% of the field making the Day 2 cut.

The second and final starting flight, Day 1B, will kickoff at 7 p.m. local time (GMT+9) and will follow the same format, though this will have 20-minute levels instead of the originally scheduled 30-minutes.

A Boat for the Double Up

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Zhang Yang
Zhang Yang

Zhang Yang was one of the two new entries before the start of Day 2 and he just managed to double up. He raised from the cutoff only for Hao He to defend from the big blind.

Yang three-barreled for 8,500, 20,500 and 16,800 in chips with the board showing {10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{4-Spades}{10-Hearts}. His third barrel was an all in too, and Hao He was his opponent and called all three streets. Yang showed {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for a full house and Hao He opened reluctantly his eights, after his opponent demanded to see them.

Zhu Crippled and Busted

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Xingbiao Zhu had some ups and downs in the first hands of Day 2. He managed to double up but then he lost most of his chips in a preflop all in situation.

Zhu was in the button holding {a-Clubs}{5-Spades} up against the jacks of his opponent. The board ran out {3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} and Zhu was left with just 4 big blinds.

He busted just two hands later.
