Haxton and Andrejevic Tangle, Andrejevic Doubles

Level 12 : 900/1,800, 200 ante

Andy Andrejevic just doubled through Isaac Haxton, after he shoved all in on the river.

Haxton opened for 3,800 preflop and got two callers, including Andrejevic from the small blind. The flop came {4-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{q-Hearts} and Andrejevic checked to Haxton. Haxton bet 5,000 and the next player folded. Andrejevic check-raised to 14,500 and Haxton called.

When the {8-Diamonds} hit the turn, Andrejevic bet 25,500. Haxton called again. The river was the {j-Diamonds} and Andrejevic shoved all in, betting his remaining 56,600. Haxton tanked for a minute or two. He pushed away from the table and looked and Andrejevic, possibly trying to pick up any additional read. Eventually Haxton settled on a call and Andrejevic won the hand with two pair, {q-Spades}{4-Spades}.

What's Up Hon?

Level 12 : 900/1,800, 200 ante

Bryan Huang hasn't had an easy time of it since joining his current table but at least he's in a better position that his neighbour Stevan Chew. Both were involved in pot with Victor Hon, who made a set to get his own short stack battle going in the right direction.

Hon raised to 5,200 from mid position and Huang and Chew called out of the blinds to see an {8-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} flop appear. Hon continued for 5,200 and was only called by Huang. The turn was the {5-Diamonds} and Hon had another 12,700 bet called before both players checked the dangerous looking {a-Hearts}.

Huang opened {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} but lost out to Hon who opened {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}.

Yuguang Li Soaring

Level 12 : 900/1,800, 200 ante

Yuguang Li has broken 400,000 chips and doesn't look to be slowing down.

On this hand, Billy Argyros raised from the hijack and Li called. The flop came {10-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} and Argyros checked and Li bet 18,500. Argyros went from looking like he was surely going to fold, to probably calling and back to definitely folding. He flashed his cards toward Li and folded. He then spun his finger around in a circle, encouraging Li to show his hand. Li turned over {j-}{j-} and scooped up the pot.

Last Seven Hands

Level 12 : 900/1,800, 200 ante

All the remaining tables will play seven more hands before they bag up for the night and hit the players pool party.

Carlos Chadha Out on Second to Last Hand

Level 12 : 900/1,800, 200 ante

Carlos Chadha just busted right before the end of the night on the second to last hand. He raised to 3,300 and Michael Addamo reraised to 9,400. Chadha went all in and Addamo called.

Chadha had {a-Spades}{j-Clubs} and Addamo had {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}. Chadha flopped a pair on the {7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{j-Spades}{8-Hearts}{q-Spades} board, but the river queen ended his tournament.

"Should have flatted, you would have won it on the flop," said tablemate Russell Thomas.

"True, but now I can enjoy the party," said Chadha as he packed up his things. Chadha was referring to the ACOP Players Party. Day 2 is one of the shorter days of the tournament so the players can all participate.

Yuguang Li Chases 2nd APPT Title of 2015; Leads after Day 2 ACOP Main Event

Level 12 : 900/1,800, 200 ante
Yuguang Li
Yuguang Li

Day 2 of the 2015 PokerStars.net APPT Season 9 ACOP Main Event came and went over five 90-minute levels today. A total of 157 players returned, a few late registering players joined them, and by 10 p.m. local time just 65 remained.

The end of this poker festival also sees the end of the race to become the 2015 Asia Player of the Year, and as it happens, some of those vying for the title are also in the mix at the top of the counts in the Main Event. Yuguang Li has a chance of winning that coveted title, especially considering he ended the day as the clear chip leader with 440,300. The Chinese player loves Macau and won an APPT title here back in March which he followed up 24 hours later by winning the High Roller Event. Going on to win would cap a remarkable year for him.

No other player has over 300,000. Those with more than 200,000 are Zhou Zhou (294,400), "Tony" Yat Wai Chen (288,500), Zhengye Yao (266,300), Bill Argyros (261,300), Ningdan Shi (254,000), Michael Addamo (227,200), Shunu Zang (207,100) and Peiran Liu (201,000).

The final number for the tournament ended up at 260, which created a total prize pool of $24,206,000 HKD.

The winner will take home $5.85-million HKD ($759,232 USD approx) and a min-cash will be worth $193,000 HKD ($24,899 USD approx). Here’s a full break down of the payouts:

25th-27th$193,000.00$24,899

Those representing the red spade of PokerStars enjoyed great day ones but the Day 2 story was more mixed. Isaac Haxton (77,700), Mikhail Shalamov (161,400) and Bryan Huang (54,300) were the only three to make it through after battling days on the baize.

Whereas, Aditya Agarwal, Yaxi Zhu, Vivian Im and Kosei Ichinose failed to make it through and were joined on the side lines by notables such as Joe Hachem (queens cracked); Xuan Liu (ace-king into aces); Terrence Chan (straight versus flush); John Juanda (bluffed off his stack), and Daniel Neilson.

The good thing about busting today though is that the official player party is happening tonight with the ACOP Beer Pong championship taking centre stage. So there’s plenty of chances for them to drown their sorrows (not in the pool) and they don’t have to worry about getting up for Day 3 tomorrow.

Speaking of, Day 3 starts at 2 p.m. and six 90-minute levels are scheduled. Making the final 27 and the money will be the remaining players’ priority, so make sure you join the PokerNews reporting team for what promises to be an exciting day at the tables.

While you wait, check out this video of the ACOP Players' Party:
