Cui Leads after Day 2 at APPT Macau!
Day 2 of the 2013 APPT Macau Main Event has come to a close with 49-players surviving till the end. That’s right, the remaining players will come back tomorrow on the money-bubble! In the last hand of the day, three tables had all-in players at risk, and when the hands were over, two were sent to the rail, and one survived.
It was a very entertaining day as 162 starters battled it out, before the number dwindled down to just 49. Yan Cui would clinch the chip lead nearing the end of the day, finishing on 484,000. He rocketed up the leader board when he clashed with Roger Spets, moving him to just under 400,000 before never looking back.
Hot on his heels are Jay Tan (484,000) and David Man (451,000). It looked like Man would take the honours of top-stack, after he and Ivan Zalac created a pot that reached almost 300,000 in chips. His aggression didn’t stop there, as he took out several more players towards the end of the day.
Tan is one of three females still left in the field, who will all make their presence felt come tomorrow. Tan went unnoticed as she finished amongst the leaders, and will be joined by PokerStars Team Pro Vivian Im (133,000) and local player Sixiao “Juicy” Li (89,500).
Other notable players to survive the day include Nick Wong, Trung Tran, Matt Carter, Nan Hong, Vladimir Troyanovskiy, Jordan Westmorland, Michael Mariakis and Day 1b chip leader Tomaz Yip.
Some of those who weren’t so fortunate today include Lacey Jones, Liam O’Rourke, Kenny Wong, Didier Guerin, Ivan Zalac, Emanuael Seal, David Steicke, and PokerStars Team Pro Raymond Wu.
Be sure to tune in on Saturday at 3:00pm local time, as PokerNews brings you the bursting of the money-bubble, as we close in on the final table, here at the City of Dreams Macau!
