Chieng Straights out Tong

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

The biggest pot of the final table has just been won by Alexandre Chieng to move him into the chip lead.

It all started with Dinesh Alt opening to 75,000 from the button, as Ling Tong and Chieng came along from the blinds. The flop came down {7-Hearts}{4-Spades}{4-Diamonds}, as the blinds checked over to Alt, who threw out a continuation bet of 135,000. Tong thought about his decision for over a minute, before making the call, as Chieng snapped right behind him. The {3-Hearts} fell on the turn, and Chieng wasted no time, instantly betting out 315,000. Alt mucked his hand, as Tong again went into the tank. A few minutes passed, before he made the call, as the {9-Clubs} fell on the river.

Chieng didn't rush to any quick decisions, thinking out his next move carefully, before placing 200,000 into the middle. Tong agonised over his decision once again, and eventually made the call to see Chieng table the {5-Hearts}{6-Spades} for a straight. He wasn't very impressed, mucking his hand in disgust.

Nan Hong Eliminated in 5th Place (HKD476,000)

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Kenneth Leong opened to 80,000 from the cut-off, before Nan Hong instantly moved all in for around 900,000 in chips. The action folded back around to Leong, who shrugged his shoulders, and made the call.

Hong: {A-Clubs}{7-Spades}
Leong: {J-Spades}{J-Clubs}

Leong got his dream flop, as the cards fell {J-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} to see him hit his set, almost locking up the pot there and then. The {5-Hearts} and {k-Clubs} on the turn and river were no help for Hong, who's great run in the tournament finally came to an end.

Can Alt be Stopped?

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Another big hand has seen Dinesh Alt further himself from the rest of the pack.

Alt started things off with a bet of 75,000 from under the gun, and was called by Nan Hong in the blinds. The flop came down {3-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} as Hong quickly threw out a bet of 100,000. Alt didn't look very concerned, instantly reaching down at his chips, and raising to 250,000. Hong made the call, as the {A-Clubs} fell on the turn. Hong checked, before being met with an instant all in call from Alt for 1,800,000 in chips. It had Hong well covered, and he mucked his hand moments later.

Alt Rising

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

The hand started with Kenneth Leong opening to 60,000 from the button. Dinesh Alt made the call from the big blind, as both saw the flop come down {2-Hearts}{A-Spades}{3-Hearts}. Alt checked as Leong threw out a continuation bet of 75,000, before instantly calling to see the {4-Hearts} come on the turn. Alt then motioned towards his chips, counted out a bet, and slid forward 150,000 in chips. Leong looked at the bet, and after a minute, made the call as the {9-Diamonds} made its way on the river. Both players then quickly checked, before Alt tabled his {4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} for two-pair. Leong tapped the table in acknowledgment, as his cards went straight into the muck.

Chieng Makes the Call

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Alexandre Chieng opened to 60,000 from the cut-off, and was called by Nan Hong and Dinesh Alt in the blinds. The flop came down {4-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}, and the action was checked over to Chieng, who threw out a continuation bet of 80,000. Hong almost beat him into the pot with a call, as Alt also reached for chips, before releasing his hand. The {Q-Clubs} on the turn brought a couple of checks as the {K-Hearts} completed the board. Hong instantly reached for chips, before committing 55,000 into the pot. The small bet had Chieng thinking, who eventually made the call, as Hong tabled his {A-Spades}{J-Clubs} for ace-high. Chieng casually tabled his {5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} which was good enough to take down the pot.

Alt Snaps Back

Level 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Nan Hong started things off with an open to 75,000 from the button. He was called by Dinesh Alt and Ling Tong in the blinds, as the flop came down {10-Spades}{A-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}. The blinds checked over to Hong, who quickly threw out a continuation bet of 80,000. Alt was the only caller, as both saw the {J-Clubs} fall on the turn. Alt snap check-called another bet of 80,000, before doing the same for 115,000 when the {3-Hearts} completed the board.

Hong tabled his {k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for king-high, but was defeated by Alt, who showed his {Q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} for a pair of tens.
