Last Year's Runner Up Sent Packing

Level 12 : 900/1,800, 200 ante

Last year, Andy Ying Kit Chan of Hong Kong finished runner-up in this very event for $454,808 (thanks to a heads-up deal and a flip for the title). Chan had his eyes fixed on another deep run, but any hope of that happening just went up in flames.

It happened after Ro Woong Park got his stack all in holding the {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} and Chan put him at risk with {a-}{k-}. Park doubled on the hand after the board ran out {7-Spades}{10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{10-Clubs}{q-Hearts}, and Chan was crippled. He would bust in the very next hand.
