Cockburn Fails to Hit the Board

Level 7 : 300/600, 75 ante

Action folded to EPT Barcelona champ Tom "hitthehole" Middleton on the button and he raised to 1,200. Adrian Gray called from the small blind, and then Australian Craig Cockburn three-bet to 3,700 from the big.

Middleton responded with a four-bet to 8,200, Gray got out of the way, and Cockburn five-bet to 14,700. Middleton then six-bet all in and Cockburn called off for approximately 36,000 total.

Middleton: {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
Cockburn: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}

It was a classic flip with Cockburn looking to hit. The {q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{9-Diamonds} flop didn't give him what he was looking for, but it did deliver him a Broadway draw to go with his overs. The {7-Clubs} turn didn't change much, and the dealer proceeded to burn one last time and put out the {5-Diamonds} on the river. Cockburn missed, wished Middleton luck, and then took his leave from the tournament.

Meanwhile, Jaswinder Suri has been eliminated from the tournament.
