Yates Still Struggling

Matt Yates has been able to claw his back to almost a million chips a few times throughout this heads-up battle, but Marcel Schreiner has again managed to chip away at Yates' stack.

Schreiner won three hands in a row in uncontested pots to force the stack of Yates to under 700,000.

Schreiner Still Ahead

Marcel Schreiner has been chipping away at Matt Yates again, taking down three pots in a row without going to a flop and then getting Matt Yates to fold on the turn of a board showing {2-Spades}{a-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{10-Spades}.

The next hand after that would see Schreiner raise preflop and then continue his aggression on a flop showing {j-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{6-Spades} and Yates would again send his cards flying into the muck and a pot into Schreiner's hands.

Trading Blinds

There hasn't been a whole lot of action the last couple of hands but both players have been showing relentless aggression with lots raising and re-raising preflop. It is actually tough to remember the last time these two players had a showdown during this heads-up match.

Yates Gains Ground

Matt Yates has managed to make back some much needed chips the last couple of hands, first getting Marcel Schreiner to fold on the turn of a board showing {5-Hearts}{j-Spades}{9-Spades}{2-Hearts} after showing aggression preflop and on the flop.

The next hand saw Yates take the blinds and antes preflop, while the following hand Yates took down the pot after raising preflop and continuation betting on a {10-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{9-Spades} flop and getting Schreiner to lay down his hand.

Schreiner Edging Back Ahead

Marcel Schreiner has again gained a nice chip edge, again having an almost 3-1 chip lead over Matt Yates.

The only hand to see a flop over the last 6 hands started when Yates called from the button and Schreiner checked from the big blind. The {8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{9-Clubs} flop would see both players check as the {j-Spades} came on the turn. This time Schreiner would lead for 28,000 and a call from Yates would see the {a-Hearts} hit the river. Again Schreiner would lead, this time for 56,000. With Yates' cards in the muck the pot went to Schreiner.

Four of the last five hands were won and lost with no cards being dealt on the felt.

Marcel took down two of these hands, while Yates would also take down two.

Yates Gets Some Back

Matt Yates has finally managed to get a couple of hands back and return a few of chips to his stack.

The biggest hand that Yates won to make his stack a little healthier began when Marcel Schreiner completed from the button and Yates checked from the big blind.

The flop was dealt {3-Spades}{a-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and the players checked to watch the {2-Diamonds} hit the turn. This time Yates would lead for 55,000 and Schreiner called. The {a-Spades} fell on the river and both players would check as the {a-Hearts}{4-Clubs} of Yates would send the pot in his direction.

Schriener Continues To Dominate

Marcel Schreiner has just won another three hands in a row, chipping away at Yates yet again.

The first hand saw Schreiner three-bet to 122,000 after Yates opened to 48,000 on the button. Yates called and the {4-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop fell. Schreiner led for 105,000 on the flop and Yates sent his cards into the muck.

The next hand saw a similar hand play out, except on a flop showing {4-Clubs}{j-Spades}{2-Clubs} and the next hand would see Yates simply give Schreiner a walk, perhaps not wanting to play another flop with the German!

Schreiner Grinding Away

Marcel Schreiner seem to be simply grinding away at Matt Yates, with Schreiner managing to gather a nice chip lead over the last 10 minutes.

Schreiner has not had to show one hand out of the last 15, winning 12 of these hands without going to showdown, getting Yates to fold either preflop, or once the cards have been dealt. It may be too early to call this a domination, but so far it is Schreiner who has definitely got the egde over Yates.
