Easy Squeezy Frydman

It was looking like a bit of a friendly community pot a few moments ago, but Michael Frydman had the sense to stop with all the friendliness and take down the pot.

Steve Bouya raised to 45,000 from under the gun and received calls from Leo Boxell, Van Marcus, William Jones and Phillip Willcocks before the action came to Frydman in the big blind.

Frydman saw this as a good opportunity to win some chips and shoved his 620,000 stack into the middle.

When each of the five players threw their cards into the muck Frydman took down the pot and gave a small fist pump.

Jackson Zheng Eliminated in 8th Place (A$36,700)

Jackson Zheng - 8th Place
Jackson Zheng - 8th Place

Phillip Willcocks made a min-raise from under the gun and sent the action flying to fellow New Zealanader Jackson Zheng, who moved his short stack all-in from the cutoff seat. Willcocks made the call and the two Kiwi's would turn their hands over.

Zheng:{k-Clubs}{q-Hearts}
Willcocks:{4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}

Zheng would need help that would never come as the board rolled out {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}{8-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}, sending Zheng home in 8th place for a A$36,700 score and leaving Willcocks as only international player at a table full of Aussies.

Boxell Beats Bouya

Leo Boxell raised to 55,000 from under the gun and managed calls from Michael Frydman in the small blind and Steve Bouya in the big blind.

Flop: {q-Clubs}{3-Spades}{9-Hearts}

Frydman and Bouya checked and Boxell bet 100,000. Frydmand got out of the way, while Bouya made the call.

The {7-Spades} on the turn brought about a check from Bouya and another 100,000 from Boxell. With a call, the players would watch as the {9-Diamonds} landed on the river.

This time Bouya would opt lead, throwing out 250,000. When Boxell made the call, Bouya immediately threw his cards faced down into the muck and Boxell took down the pot as he said in jest, "You can't bluff an idiot!"

Boxell is now our chip leader.

First Break

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

The players have just been sent on their first ten-mintute break of the final table at the APPT Melbourne Main Event.

Double Million

Phillip Willcocks raised to 32,000 from early position and Steve Bouya popped it to 132,000. Willcocks made the call and the two chip leaders would go head-to-head in a pot.

The hand ended up being quite uneventful, as both players checked on every street as the board ran out {j-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}.

When all was said and done, the {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts} of Bouya would send Willcocks' hand into the much, as Bouya cracks the 2-million chip mark.

Jones decided to slow checking the action to Willcocks he threw in a 75,000 chip bet. Jones thought for a few moments before sending his cards into the muck.

BooooYah!

Jackson Zheng raised to 32,000 from middle position and received the call from Steve Bouya in the big blind.

The flop fell the {5-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{k-Spades} and both players opted to check. The {2-Diamonds} fell on the turn and Bouya led for 32,000. When Zheng made the call, the {8-Clubs} landed on the river. This time Bouya decided to check and Zheng became the aggressor, firing out 101,000. Bouya made the call and Zheng tabled his {k-Clubs}{j-Hearts} and Bouya took down the pot, out-kicking Zheng, with {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades}.

With that hand we now have a new chip leader!

Van Knows His Uncle

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

The action was on Van Marcus with a flop showing {10-Spades}{5-Spades}{9-Hearts} and he led for 45,000 into his uncle, Steve Bouya.

Bouya raised to 150,000 and Marcus thought for a moment before folding his {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} face up. Bouya then tabled his {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts} as he raked in the pot, with Marcus making a good read of his uncle.
