Cherep Doubles
Timothy Cherep doubled through Mikhail Mazunin when his hit an ace on the flop and dodged a straight draw to hold against Mazunin's . The hand boosted Cherep to among the chip leaders in the field.
Yesterday, Cherep made a huge laydown to Mazunin in an agonizing pot, helping Mazunin move to the top of the counts and leaving Cherep much shorter. Today, Cherep says he laid down kings. After he doubled, Cherep told Mazunin in not the friendliest of tones, "I know you had aces. You don't have to tell me. I know you did. It's ok cause I'm gonna take all your chips."
Not done with his tirade, Cherep added, "Nobody lays down kings. Nobody in this room. Getting three-to-one, nobody but me. That's how I stay alive." Then Cherep looked up at Marcel Luske sitting two seats over. "Well, maybe Marcel does. I don't know."
