Alex Lee(ds) final 37 at ANZPT Sydney

After dozens of eliminations, a lengthy bubble and ultimately eight 60-minute levels of play, the 167 returning players on Day 2 have been whittled down to just 37.
Leading the way with 755,000 in chips is Alex Lee from Canberra. Lee had a massive level of the night, leaving most of his opponents behind. Some of those who also have big stacks include Murray Roach (692,000) and Rory Young (606,000), while Jazz Mathers (458,000), Adrian Attenborough (384,000) and Daniel Neilson (346,000) also finished Day 2 with commendable stacks. While Lee and the 36 other returning players are all fortunate enough to still be in contention for the $225,300 top prize, there were many who weren’t even fortunate enough to make it into the money at all. This includes players such as Dylan Honeyman, Billy Argyros, Stevan Chew, David Gorr, Jesse McKenzie, Jake Balsiger, former ANZPT Sydney champion Michael Kanaan and PokerStars Team Online Roy Bhasin.
These players would have been disappointed to not make the money, but arguably not as disappointed as the bubble boy. Hand-for-hand play lasted one hour and in the end it was Ben Williams who finished in a meaningless 55th place.
Following Williams’ elimination, Emanuel “Curly” Seal was the first player to finish in the money and from there 18 other players hit the rail with money for their time, details of which can be found on the ANZPT Sydney payouts page.
All the 37 remaining players have currently locked up $4,100 but will of course be looking to secure a spot on the final table. To make it through to the final nine, the players will have to return from 2:00 p.m. tomorrow and survive another action-packed day.
