Skunky Winning Chips

Level 6 : 300/600, 75 ante

Earlier in the day, prominent Aussie player Tristan Bain was down to under 10,000 in chips. Now he is back up to 35,000 after we caught him taking down a couple of small back-to-back pots.

The first hand began when Bain opened to 1,200 from under the gun plus one. Both players from the blinds called and then check-folded to a bet of 2,100 from Bain on the {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop.

The very next hand, Bain opened to 1,200 once again, this time from under the gun. The player directly on Bain’s left called and so too did the small blind. The {5-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{7-Spades} would see it checked to Bain, who bet 1,650. The player on his left called, while the small blind quickly folded. Bain led for 4,200 on the {9-Spades} turn and took it down.

Readers may recall that Bain, under the screen name "SkunkDen", took home just under $800,000 when he chopped the landmark 10th anniversary Sunday Million in 2011. That was the largest single online tournament result from any Australian poker player in history.
