Bredin Booms

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Jonathan Bredin is now one of the chip leaders here on Day 2 of the APPT Queenstown Main Event after dispatching of Australia’s number one online-ranked player in Matthew Wakeman. Bredin had opened for a min-raise under the gun and Michael Chon flat called before Wakeman jammed for another 19,700 on top. Bredin happily called as Chon got out of the way.

Wakeman opened {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} but Bredin had him crushed with {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}. The flop of {8-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{5-Spades} smacked Bredin with a set and the {a-Clubs} turn was the icing on the cake as Bredin made quad aces. The meaningless river was the {10-Hearts} as Wakeman departs to leave Bredin with a monster stack of 115,000 chips.
