Day 3 Completed
After a slow start to Day 3 of Event #41: $888 Mystery Bounty Main Event at the 888poker 2024 XL Spring Series, Ukraine's "R2Rka" ultimately came out on top of the eight-handed final table to claim the tournament victory. For their win, they received a total of $96,884, including $13,478 in bounties.
Lithuanian "R3li_able", who was dominant for most of the day's play, came up just short in second place, though their total payday of $112,134 was the largest of the tournament. "1goodshot" of Ukraine secured the final podium spot to go along with $52,589.

Mystery Bounty Portion
Of the $1,038,800 total prize pool, $500,000 was set aside for the mystery bounty portion of the tournament. Most of the bounty action took place on Day 2, in particular when "r4ndomr4gs" won a threeway all in and drew the top $100,000 bounty. Their tournament came to an end not long after in 45th place but they still managed to walk away with the second largest payout.
Final Table Action
Play at the start of the final table was cagey, and the first elimination did not occur for nearly an hour when "morewater" fell in eighth place after suffering a bad beat. That seemed to open the floodgates with "icho90" failing to come from behind to send them out in seventh place.
Next to go was "3AHYDA" after they could not hold in a blind on blind encounter with "R3li_able". "SayPlease" had been riding the short stack for much of the final table, securing several pay jumps in the process. They were, however, unable to keep their run going beyond fifth place, instead falling victim to the dominating king-queen of "R2Rka".
Just a couple of hands later, "noWHATfella" bowed out in fourth place after running their small pocket pair into the nines of a rampant "R3li_able".
Three-handed play did not last long. Rather, each player found a premium at the same time to set up a hugely significant threeway all in that saw "R2Rka" emerge as the overwhelming chip leader against "R3li_able" while condemning "1goodshot" to a third place finish. Soon after, "R2Rka" claimed the last few chips of "R3li_able" to take down Event #41: $888 Mystery Bounty Main Event at the 888poker 2024 XL Spring Series.
That wraps up coverage of this event, but be sure to keep following PokerNews as its live reporting team continues to provide comprehensive coverage of global poker events.
Level 42: 70,000/140,000
"R2Rka" moved all in on the button for 3,603,274 with "1goodshot" calling off for 1,772,540 in the small blind and "R3li_able" making the call with the covering stack to setup a massive threeway all in.
"1goodshot": 10♣10♠
"R2Rka": K♠Q♠
"R3li_able": A♥K♦
"R3li_able" was in a great spot, essentially flipping to win the tournament against two opponents. That did not last long as the 8♣Q♥5♦ flop paired up "R2Rka" to put them in pole position. Nothing changed on the J♣ turn or K♥ river to send "1goodshot" to the rail in 3rd place and leave "R2Rka" with a sizable chip advantage against "R3li_able".
A couple of hands later, "R3li_able" found themselves all in and at risk and could not win to bring their deep tournament run to a close in second place. Meanwhile, "R2Rka" was left standing alone to claim the win in Event #41: $888 Mystery Bounty Main Event.
