On the eighth day of the XL Inferno Series on 888poker, players could enjoy a huge day of poker.

In total, sixteen tournaments started with the XL Inferno #97 - $200,000 Tune Up as one of the highlights. There was also the $600 buy-in $200,000 Whale edition where the winner won more than $50,000. Let's have a look at the results.

XL Inferno #97 - $200,000 Tune Up

After over 13 hours of play, Event #97 - $160 XL Inferno Tune Up, finally crowned a winner. It was "PokerMogo" from Romania who claimed the first place prize of $44,996.82 after defeating "renatonomura" in heads-up play.

The event had 1,171 players register with 567 rebuys for a total of 1738 total entries. They created a prizepool of $260,700 with 153 places getting paid. It was "CzarBushov" from Canada that finished on the bubble and was unable to break into the money.

After nearly 10 hours of play, the tournament dwindled down to nine players which made up the official final table. It was "PokerMogo" who went on an early heater as he scored the first three knockout on the final table. He eliminated "PacoMonon" in 9th place ($2,867.70), "veeea" in 8th place ($5,083.65), and "Kelvin_kerbe" in 7th place ($7,690.65), two of which he held aces on the elimination hand.

"SoulRead88uk" ($10,297.65) and "Pelfort" ($12,904.65) would grind short stacks for awhile but would eventually fall to "surprisefirm" in back-to-back hands for 6th place and 5th place respectively. "IWant2Gamble" was left on the short stack but stayed aggressive by pushing all-in and stealing the blinds. However, he was finally caught when he pushed with ace-five, and "PokerMogo" woke up with ace-king. The board ran out dry and "IWant2Gamble" was eliminated in 4th place ($18,144.72).

The remaining three players were all extremely deep and would play three-handed for over an hour. Finally it was "surprisefirm" that was all-in but with the best hand. Unfortunately, "renatonomura" would hit an eight on the flop and held on to secure his place in the final two, sending "surprisefirm" to the rail in 3rd place ($24,766.50).

The two players went into heads-up play fairly even in chips but it would be "renatonomura" that would take a three-to-one chip lead over "PokerMogo" early on. Shortly after, "PokerMogo" reversed his fortune and took back the chip lead and continued to build on it. Finally all the chips got in the middle with "PokerMogo" holding against "renatonomura"'s . The board ran out .

"renatonomura" would finish in 2nd place ($32,587.50) and "PokerMogo" took down the title!

XL Inferno #91 - $30,000 Sunday Lightning

Long before "PokerMogo" won his event, 888poker crowned the first winner of the day in the XL Inferno #91 - $30,000 Sunday Lightning. In this tournament, 386 players competed for a total prize pool of $58,200. Ukraine's "zinkAA" took the most money after winning it for the first prize of $11,640.

XL Inferno #92 - $45,000 Sunday Breeze

A regular tournament on all days of the XL Inferno Series is the $45,000 Sunday Breeze. This time, 1,124 players registered for the event and created a total prize pool of $56,200. The first prize of $9,823,76 went to Czech Republic's "cmonsayboy" after defeating "Jefffryyy" in the final heads-up.

XL Inferno #93 - $30,000 Sunday Deepstack Swordfish

XL Inferno #94 - $150,000 Mega Deep

One of the biggest tournaments of this day was the XL Inferno #94 - $150,000 Mega Deep. There were 967 players paid their buy-in of $215 to create a total prize pool of $193,400. The tournament started 18:30 and after more than 14 (!) hours a winner was crowned.

The first prize of $34,812 went to Brazilian "TheSecretVMS" who defeated "CrystalMad" in the deciding heads-up. The runner-up from the United Kingdom received a prize of $25,142 for his second place.

XL Inferno #98 - $25,000 Mini Tune Up

In the XL Inferno #98 - $25,000 Mini Tune Up, 2,183 players competed for the first prize of $5,548.92. Canadian's "AronZspot" took it after more than ten hours of players. Russia's "alkapone30" finished in second place for $4,165.20.

XL Inferno #99 - $45,000 Sunday Monsoon

Switzerland's "otchootcho8" was one of the winners on Day 8 of the XL Inferno Series. He conquered a field of 995 players in the XL Inferno #99 - $45,000 Sunday Monsoon. He received the first prize of $8,955, while runner-up "MatheusCG" got $6,467.50.

XL Inferno #100 - $200,000 Whale

The most expensive tournament on Day 8 was the XL Inferno #100 - $200,000 Whale. Players had to pay $600 to compete in this tournament and 328 chose to do this. There were also 138 rebuys to get a total prize pool of $263,290.

Every finalist was guaranteed at least $4,607.57 and this prize went to "Perrymejsen" who busted in ninth place. After that, "PureNutella" (eight, $6,318.98), "IggyGak" (seventh, $8,951.86) and "sk2ll_m0dR" (sixth, $11,584.76) followed in quick succession.

Germany's "ShipCompany" then busted in fifth place for $15,007,53, "joga_pra_cor" finished in fourth for $21,721.42 and "Imyurfriend" missed the heads-up when he finished in third place for $28,961.90.

The final heads-up between "Kannwas" and "B4NKR0LL3R" ended after nine hours and 36 minutes of play; it was Morocco's "B4NKR0LL3R" won the event for $50,946.61. Germany's runner-up received $38,177.05 for his second place.

XL Inferno #101 - $100,000 Sunday Challenge

Another big prize was won by Lithuania's "N0tori0us_B". He snagged the title and first prize of $16,326.86 in the XL Inferno #101 - $100,000 Sunday Challenge after a three-way deal.

XL Inferno #102 - $30,000 Sunday Tornado

XL Inferno #103 - $50,000 Turbo Mega Deep

XL Inferno #104 - $20,000 Mini Turbo Mega Deep

The XL Inferno #104 - $20,000 Mini Turbo Mega Deep was won by Brazilian player "niltmz", who secured himself of $4,262.40 after defeating "5veBetFold" in the final heads-up.

XL Inferno #105 - $30,000 Turbo Tune Up

The XL Inferno #105 - $30,000 Turbo Tune Up, a tournament with a buy-in of $55, was won by "engineone" from Germany. He defeated a field of 456 players after beating "blackwawks" in the final heads-up and took the first prize of $5,700.
