Packed House Expected on Day 1c of the 888poker Live Madrid Main Event


The Casino Gran Via in the heart of the Spanish capital will be full today when Day 1c of the €888 888poker Live Madrid Main Event begins at 3 p.m. local time.
The first two starting flights saw a total of 145 entries, with 66 advancing to Day 2. Alejandro Perez is the massive chip leader with 380,000, followed by Alexander Stevic (249,500), Borja Diaz (231,000), defending champion Manuel Ledesma (222,000), and Carlos Perez-Dosio (217,000).

Other players already through include 888poker Pro Ian Simpson (172,500), Tarmo Tammel (172,500), Yurii Zabrodotskyi (157,000), Tom-Aksel Bedell (85,500), David McConachie (65,000), and last year’s runner-up Juan Lyons (36,000). In addition to Simpson, fellow team pros Lucia Navarro (62,500), Ricardo Mateus (46,000), and Vivian Saliba (23,500) also made it through their opening flight.
Players on Day 1c begin with a 50,000 starting stack and will play 11 40-minute levels. There is a 15-minute break after every three levels and a 60-minute dinner break at the end of Level 9 which should come around 9:30 p.m. Unlimited reentries are allowed, with late registration open until the start of Day 2.
This is the third of four starting flights. The turbo Day 1d flight begins tomorrow at 1 p.m. with 20-minute levels. All survivors then combine for Day 2 at 5 p.m.
