Action resumes at Casino Gran Via today for the second flight of the 888poker LIVE Madrid €888 Main Event. A total of 20 players managed to find a bag on Day 1a after completing the first eleven levels of the tournament.

The opening flight saw 85 entries, which is expected to rise on Day 1b. Cards will be in the air at 5 p.m. local time, with the second flight following the same structure as the first.

Italy’s Paolo Boi collected an impressive 535,000 chips to take a sizeable lead after the opening day, setting the bar for the remaining flights.

Among those to take their shot on Day 1a were 888poker Ambassadors Vivian Saliba and Ian Simpson, with both coming up empty and unable to find a bag. Simpson fired three bullets yesterday but will have more chances to qualify for Day 2.

Day 1b gets underway at 5 p.m. local time, with two more opening flights to follow. Day 1c will be played on January 27 at 5 p.m. and a turbo Day 1d flight gets underway at 1 p.m. on January 28. Unlimited reentries are allowed, with late registration closing at the start of Day 2.

All players begin with a starting stack of 50,000 chips, and the opening level sees blinds of 100/300 and a 300 big blind ante. A total of 11 levels will be played on Day 1b, with each lasting 45 minutes.
