Another action-packed day at the 888poker LIVE Coventry series saw a massive turnout for Day 1d of the £888 Main Event.

The fourth of six opening flights attracted a total of 302 entries at Coventry Building Society Arena, with Oliver Braddock leading the way after another 14 levels of play. The tournament crept closer to the £500,000 guaranteed prize pool, with one last turbo flight to come on Saturday, October 19. Late registration also remains open until the start of Day 2 at 5:00 p.m. local time.

Braddock bagged up 497,000 chips by day’s end, holding a slight lead over China’s Longmao Fan (488,000). Next on the leaderboard are Mo Romanowicz (432,000) and Christopher Johnson (420,000), sitting as the only other players to collect more than 400,000 chips. They sit out front among the 46 players that survived the long day.

Rounding out the top five for the day is 888poker StreamTeam member Ricardo Mateus, who amassed an impressive stack of 395,000 to sit in prime position for a deep run here in Coventry.

Just outside the top ten is 888poker Ambassador Lucia Navarro, who built up steadily as the day moved on before a big river shove saw her gain ground on the leaders.

Navarro and Mateus will now join Ian Simpson, who found a bag on Day 1c. Other members of the 888poker team were unable to find a bag, including Vivian Saliba and Andrei Cosmin.

Among the leaders is Yucel Eminoglu (379,000), who went runner-runner late in the day to improbably score a double knockout. Timothy Slater (299,000) found pocket aces at exactly the right time as two opponents were all in, helping him carry 50 big blinds into action on Saturday.

Saturday will see the final turbo flight, as Day 1f will be the last chance to build a stack before late registration closes at the start of Day 2. Action will begin at 11:00 a.m. local time, with all surviving players finally combining into one field to navigate the bubble and beyond at 5:00 p.m.

PokerNews will be on the scene to catch all of the exciting action, as players look to run deep and be crowned the next 888poker LIVE champion.
