Mindaugas Kurlenskas opened to 175,000 from under the gun with A♣10♣ and was promptly three-bet by Conor Odriscoll on the button holding J♠J♦.
The call was made and the dealer turned over the 6♠4♦K♦ flop. Kurlenskas checked to Odriscoll, who continued for 100,000. That led to a check-raise from Kurlenskas to 375,000 and Odriscoll called.
Both players then checked the 8♣ turn and the K♣ was flipped over on the river.
Kurlenskas checked, laying his hand down after Odriscoll fired a bet of 600,000 to take down the pot.
Harriwin Selvarajoo limped in the small blind before Sunil Mistri raised to 305,000 in the big blind. Selvarajoo then moved all in for 1,365,000 and Mistri made the quick call.
Harriwin Selvarajoo: Q♠Q♣
Sunil Mistri: A♣K♥
Selvarajoo was flipping for his tournament life, staying safe through the 3♥Q♦J♣5♦A♦ runout to earn the first big pot of the final table by doubling through Mistri.
During the 2024 World Series of Poker Europe at King's Resort, Rozvadov, 888poker ambassador Vivian Saliba captured her first WSOP bracelet. It was a case of fifth time lucky for the popular Brazilian who had previously navigated her way to four WSOP final tables but fell short of the bracelet each time.
The final table of the €2,000 Pot-Limit Omaha went differently for Saliba. She eventually found herself heads-up against Germany's Markus Anheier with a commanding 3:1 lead. However, Anheier doubled, and history was in danger of repeating itself.
Saliba stuck to her guns, got lucky herself, and then had Anheier back on the ropes. All of Anheier's chips went into the middle after he flopped two pair versus Saliba's middle pair and flush draw. The flush came in on the turn, the river bricked, and Saliba finally became a WSOP champion. How did that feel?
"Oh, it was a relief! I've gotten close many times. This was my fifth final table, but I've had a 10th, 11th, 16th, 19th, and 22nd, so winning took a huge weight off my shoulders because after failing so many times and being close, you start doubting yourself and asking will this ever happen?"
"So, I'm very happy to have one shiny accessory right now, and I'm looking to accumulate more in the future."
As the players were preparing to break for the final table redraw, Brandon Harris moved all in and was at risk after Mindaugas Kurlenskas called in the big blind.
Brandon Harris: 5♣5♦
Mindaugas Kurlenskas: 10♠10♦
Harris could not improve on the 3♦3♠K♠3♥7♣ runout, hitting the rail in ninth position.
