Three starting flights have concluded and one more is still to come in the 2024 888poker LIVE Barcelona €888 Main Event. day 1c attracted 191 entrants here at Casino Barcelona bringing the total field size to 418 and prize pool to $337,744 so far.

This year's Main Event has already surpassed the attendance of last year's 888poker LIVE Barcelona Main Event which featured 369 entrants and the number for this year will continue to grow as late registration remains available throughout the final Day 1d starting flight all the way until the start of Day 2.

After the dust had settled France's Jeremy Atlan held the biggest stack in the room, finishing Day 1c with 344,000, a stack that will be worth 115 big blinds going into Day 2. Atlan climbed to the top of the chip counts in the last level of the night after cracking pocket kings with pocket tens. He is most closely followed by Spain's Antonio Olivan (310,500) and fellow countryman Henri Peluchon (299,500).

Simpson joins fellow ambassadors Lucia Navarro (264,500) Vivian Saliba (150,500) and Alexandre Mantovani (33,000), all of whom managed to find a bag during yesterday's Day 1b flight.

Among the notables who played Day 1c but did not survive until the end of the night is Maria Lampropulos, who registered just before the last level of play. Lampropulos, as well as 888poker stream team members Nick Eastwood and Aaron Barone will have one last chance to run up a stack in Day 1d tomorrow should they choose to take advantage of the tournament's unlimited reentries.

Tomorrow, May 19 is expected to be a busy day at Casino Barcelona as the fourth and final starting flight, featuring 20-minute levels, kicks off at noon local time. Later that day the fields will combine for Day 2 of the Main Event which starts at 5:00 p.m. local time. Late registration will remain open until just before the first hand is dealt on Day 2, at which point the final prize pool will be set.

Day 2 is set to play 12 45-minute levels with 15-minute breaks taking place after every three levels and a 60-minute dinner break set to take place later in the evening. All the action will be streamed on the 888poker YouTube and Twitch channels.

Be sure to stay tuned to PokerNews as we bring you all the action for the conclusion of this event from the moment cards are in the air on Day 2 until a winner is crowned on the third and final day taking place on May 20.
