Pham Adds to Her Lead

Level 17 : Blinds 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Hong Pham
Hong Pham

Hong Pham took over the chip lead just prior to the dinner break and has been on a tear ever since. She raised to 13,000 from the hijack and Victor Ilyukhin called from the small blind.

The flop came 1063 and Ilyukhin check-called a bet of 15,500 from Pham. The turn brought the K and Ilyukhin checked again. Pham put together a bet of 40,000 and Ilyukhin stuck around for the A on the river.

Ilyukhin checked for the third time and Pham opted to check it back. Ilyukhin turned over A8 but Pham held A9 for a better kicker to scoop another pot.

Jennings Bows Out on the Feature Table

Level 17 : Blinds 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante
Rory Jennings
Rory Jennings

Over on the new feature table, Billy Vincent Irvine opened to 10,000 from under the gun and Rory Jennings pushed all in for his last 18,000 just a couple of seats over. The action folded back to Irvine who quickly called to put Jennings at risk.

Rory Jennings: K10
Billy Vincent Irvine: KQ

The flop came 542 and Jennings was still fighting an uphill battle. The 9 and A runout gave Irvine a flush and Jennings was eliminated.

Li's Rockets Hold Up

Level 14 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Jiaze Li
Jiaze Li

Jiaze Li and Lin Chen were heads-up in a three-bet pot with around 70,000 in the middle. The flop came 875 and Li led out with a bet of 23,000 from the small blind. Chen moved all in for 159,500 in early position and Li asked for a count. After using a time bank, Li made the call and the cards were on their backs.

Lin Chen: 99
Jiaze Li: AA

Li was out front with his pair of aces but Chen still had a few outs in the deck. The 2 on the turn and the 3 on the river changed nothing and Li's pocket aces held on to extend his chip lead.

Campbell Wins an Unexpected One

Level 14 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Leon Campbell
Leon Campbell

Picking up the action on the turn, Leon Campbell and Tan Le were heads-up on a board of AK44. Campbell checked from the small blind and Le tossed in a bet of 18,000 in the cutoff. Campbell check-raised all in and Le shrugged as he called off his stack of around 85,000.

Tan Le: A6
Leon Campbell: A8

The two players were currently chopping the pot but Le had the better redraw with a flush draw. However, the K hit the river and the table gazed over the board until they finally realized that Campbell's eigh-kicker now came into play. Le was disgusted to find out that he lost the pot and was bounced from the tournament.

Welcome Back for Day 2 of the £1,100 Main Event

888poker
888poker

Three starting flights have been completed and players will now return for Day 2 of the £1,100 Main Event at the 888poker Live London festival. There will be at least 124 players returning to their seats for the start of play at 12:00 p.m. noon with late registration still open until the cards go in the air.

It has been a successful turnout for the 888poker series in the heart of London, England taking place at the Grosvenor Victoria Casino. Nearly 400 entries have been recorded for the Main Event thus far and the total number will be confirmed once the registration period closes. With nearly £400,000 up for grabs over the next two days, it will be a dog fight to see who can make it into the money over the next few levels.

Jiaze Li will be the man to catch once the action gets underway after bagging up a massive stack of 375,500 on Day 1a. He holds a healthy lead over fellow Day 1a participant Steven Game who will be returning to a stack of 279,500. Leon Campbell will round out the podium after finishing atop Day 1b with 231,500 chips.

The action is scheduled to resume at 12:00 p.m. noon local time with the blinds on level 13 at 1,000/2,000 and a 2,000 big blind ante. The levels will be increased to 60 minutes in length throughout the tournament until just five players remain at which point they will be reduced again. There will be a 15-minute break after every two levels and a 60-minute dinner break after the sixth level of the day.

For those players looking to sneak in at the last moment, a starting stack will be worth 30,000 chips, good enough for 15 big blinds. A total of 10 levels are on the schedule for Day 2 with the money bubble expected to burst before the dinner break. The final table and champion will be crowned tomorrow on Day 3 which will wrap up the series. There will also be a feature table streamed on a 30-minute delay that you can check out on the 888poker Twitch page, or by clicking on the 'Stream' tab.

The PokerNews live reporting team will be here to bring you all of the live updates throughout the day including the money bubble.
