Yucel Eminoglu
Yucel Eminoglu

Yucel Eminoglu raised to 55,000 under the gun, leaving himself 6,000 behind, and Hong Pham called in the cutoff.

The flop came A84 and Eminoglu checked to Pham, who put him all in. "I was trying to take my time and get a pay jump, but you put him all in right away," Eminoglu said as he called.

Yucel Eminoglu: A9
Hong Pham: 55

Eminoglu was ahead with his flopped pair of aces and held on through the 3Q turn and river as the player affectionately known as the "Mad Turk" doubled up.

Level 19 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Lucia Navarro
Lucia Navarro

Lucia Navarro moved all in for 75,000 in early position and Hong Pham called in the big blind.

Lucia Navarro: A6
Hong Pham: 99

Navarro was looking for an ace to stay alive, but Pham's nines held after the Q5727 board to send the last remaining 888poker Ambassador to the rail.

At the same time on another table, John Bousfield raised to 20,000 in the cutoff, then called for his last 16,000 when Adam Wilkinson moved all in from the small blind.

John Bousfield: 109
Adam Wilkinson: KJ

Bousfield took the lead on the 932 flop and stayed in front on the A turn, but the K fell on the river and Bousfield joined Navarro on the walk to the payout desk.

On the hand after doubling up Nathan Jones, Francis Obadun moved all in for 102,000 in middle position and Matthew Eardley called in the small blind.

Francis Obadun: QQ
Matthew Eardley: AA

Obadun had once again run right into aces and found no help on the 5102K7 board as he was sent to the rail on the money bubble.

Jones Has the Goods

Level 19 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Nathan Jones
Nathan Jones

Francis Obadun raised to 20,000 in the hijack, then called when button Nathan Jones shoved for 235,000.

The players waited for hands at other tables to finish before turning over their cards as a large crowd once again stormed the table. "I won't do it until everybody is sitting down," Obadun said as the floor had to tell spectators to leave.

Nathan Jones: AA
Francis Obadun: AK

Jones had woken up with aces, and while Obadun picked up some chop outs on the 452 flop, the 6 turn and 7 river were harmless and Jones doubled up.

"Plays itself, doesn't it," Obadun said as he handed over the pot.

Brutal River Spells the River For Geilich

Level 18 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Ludovic Geilich
Ludovic Geilich

Action folded to Ludovic Geilich in the small blind and he moved all in for 105,000. Richard Pearson in the big blind spent a few seconds talking and laughing with Geilich before sticking in the call.

Ludovic Geilich: KQ
Richard Pearson: A9

Geilich took the lead on the 8K9 flop with a pair of kings. The turn came the 10 and Geilich was one card from a double up, but the A spiked on the river and Pearson improved to two pair to bust Geilich short of the money.

Level 16 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Nim Rattan
Nim Rattan

Joe Newby raised to 8,000 on the button, then called when Niall Farrell moved all in for 90,000 in the big blind.

Niall Farrell: 55
Joe Newby: 1010

The flop came 3AK and Farrell began asking the dealer for another spade, but none came on the Q8 runout and Farrell was eliminated.

At the same time at another table, Nim Rattan was all in for 120,000 in early position, Jones was all in for 117,000 in the hijack, and Matthew Eardley had them both covered and at risk.

Nathan Jones: QQ
Nim Rattan: JJ
Matthew Eardley: AK

Eardley spiked his ace on the 5A2 board and was poised for a double knockout as the 3 fell on the turn. The river, though, was the Q and Jones hit his set to virtually triple up, while Rattan was eliminated.

Geilich Wakes Up With Aces

Level 15 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Ludovic Geilich
Ludovic Geilich

Ludovic Geilich was all in for 33,000 from early position and up against Paul Ephremsen under the gun.

Ludovic Geilich: AA
Paul Ephremsen: KQ

Geilich was poised for a double up with his aces as the 31010 flop completely missed Ephremsen. He was already drawing dead by the 7 turn, and Geilich secured the double on the 6 river.

Not so fortunate were the likes of Keith Littlewood, Tom Middleton, and Dean Hutchison, who were recently eliminated.

Three members of the 888poker team are also back for Day 2. Vivian Saliba built up a stack of 219,000 on her opening flight, while Lucia Navarro (89,500) and Ian Simpson (50,500) had to wait for the turbo Day 1d flight last night before successfully making it through.

The action picks up on Level 15 at 1,500-3,000 and a 3,000 ante. Levels are now 60-minutes long. Play on Day 2 consists of 10 levels, with a break every two levels and a dinner break at the end of Level 20.

The large field that has packed the Coventry Building Society Arena over the past few days has already blown past the £500,000 guarantee. And there’s a chance for it to grow even larger with late registration open until the start of the day. The prize pool will then be confirmed.

The first order of business on Day 2 will be making the money. Then it’s on to the final table and, ultimately, the crowning of a new 888poker LIVE champion. PokerNews will be following the journey the entire way and providing live updates.
