At the same time on another table, Jose Aguilera got his last chips in on a board of 3KA2A with A8, but Christopher Johnson had 33 for a full house to bust Aguilera in 19th place.

William McMurray Eliminated in 21st Place (£2,870)

Level 25 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

William McMurray moved all in for 200,000 under the gun and Min Ji called in middle position.

William McMurray: K10
Min Ji: 88

The flop came 1052 and McMurray took the lead with top pair. The turn came the Q, but the river brought the 8 as Ji made a set.

"Bastard," McMurray cried out, flinging his arm in the air in frustration.

"Unlucky, Will," tablemate Richard Pearson told him.

Carl Shaw, Yiannis Liperis Headline Final 21 on the Last Day of the 888poker LIVE Coventry Main Event

Carl Shaw
Carl Shaw

It’s already been an incredible past few months for Britain’s Carl Shaw.

Shaw finished third in EPT Barcelona for over €900,000 less than two months ago, pushing his career live earnings past $2,000,000. He followed that up with another deep run in Cyprus last week. And he has a chance to do it again, as Shaw finds himself among 21 players returning for the final day of the £888 888poker LIVE Coventry Main Event.

Shaw takes a stack of 1,085,000 into Day 3, inside the top 10 led by Christopher Johnson (3,160,000). Brandon Harris (1,490,000), Teodor Evstratiev (1,445,000), Hong Pham (1,400,000), and Fabian Donovan (1,335,000) round out the top five.

Another player who can bolster their already impressive poker resume today is Yiannis Liperis. The Cyprus-born, UK-based pro already has more than $3,000,000 in live earnings and has cruised through the field this week in Coventry, finishing Day 1 as the chip leader and ending Day 2 back in the top 10 with 1,095,000. At the opposite end of the leaderboard are Ryan Otto (495,000), the third-place finisher from 888poker LIVE London earlier this year who already came runner-up in the High Roller a few days ago, and WSOP Main Event 10th-place finisher Jose Aguilera (425,000).

The 21 surviving players are all that’s left from a massive field of 672 that packed the Coventry Building Society Arena. Only one will be left standing after today, with the champion walking away with £125,000 and the 888poker trophy.

Blinds pick up on Level 25 at 15,000-30,000 with a 30,000 big blind ante. Levels are once again 60 minutes long, with a 20-minute break after every two levels and a dinner break at the end of Level 28. The final table will be streamed by 888poker TV on their Twitch channel.

What has already been a tension-filled, action-packed week here in the West Midlands comes to a close today, and PokerNews will be along following all the action and providing updates until a new champion is crowned.
