The Turbo Deepstack
Day 1 Completed
After nearly 9 hours of poker Ali Sakallioglu lifted the Turbo Deepstack trophy aloft in triumph and was £1,800 richer.
The Turbo Deepstack is the third event of 888Poker’s Festival of Poker at Aspers Casino, Westfield City and had a large £8,888 guarantee for a £80 buy-in with a 20,000 starting stack, 200 big blinds, and a 20-minute clock.
The event attracted 91 players and 17 re-entries to make a total of 108 entries. Two re-entries were permitted per player up to the close of late registration after six levels. That number fell just 3 entries short of the guarantee so there was a little bit of extra value for the players with a small overlay.
The action was fairly fast paced all evening and barely slowed down for the unlucky player who bubbled. Once there was 3 tables left though play did tighten up as players looked to ladder with one eye on the top spot and it took another two hours to reach the official final table of 9.
