$25K Fantasy Sweats for Day 8 of 2024 WSOP - Big Points Coming from Event #10 Finale

Dong Chen
Dong Chen

There’s a new leader atop the $25K Fantasy leaderboard in Team Lady Gaga (Ren Lin) with 166 points, just ahead of Team The Dinkers (Josh Kay) and their 157 points. The former was able to vault into the top spot thanks to Dong Chen hitting the field bonus when he finished 59th in the massive Event #5: $1,000 Mystery Millions for 101 points.

That said, Team Oz has recent WPT Seminole Hard Rock champ Josh Reichard, who finished 21st in the Mystery Millions. His points haven't been calculated yet, but given Team Oz already has 102 points, Reichard’s field bonus score should put them on top. Reichard was the last $25K Fantasy player standing in the tournament, so no more points should be coming out of that event.

However, in Event #10: $10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship (8-Handed) still have a pair of $25K Players among the final four in chip leader Scott Seiver (Team AJ’s Eagles) and Calvin Anderson (Team Sepiol), so big points are going to come from those two.

Event #11: $1,500 Badugi is down to the final 10 players, but none of them are $25K Fantasy players (though David Prociak, who sits second in chips, is one of the ODB $500 Fantasy bonus players). The last $25K Draftee standing in that tournament was Jim Collopy (Team Girl Dads), who finished in 11th place for $8,253. Others who went deep were Kevin Gerhart (Team Sepio – 13th place) and Chris Brewer (Team The Dinkers – 17th place).

Jim Collopy
Jim Collopy was the last $25K Fantasy player standing in the $1,500 Badugi.

In Event #12: $1,500 6-Handed NLH, Alex Foxen (Team Sepiol) Anson Tsang (Team Lady Gaga), Chance Kornuth (Team Livingston) and Landon Tice (Team Wilson) are all still in contention on Day 2, while in Event #13: $10,000 Dealers’ Choice Championship approximately two dozen $25K Fantasy players are among the 68 returning players including seven players in the top ten chip counts. Erick Lindgren (Team Negreanu), Nick Schulman (Team Negreanu), and Phil Ivey (Team Sepiol) are just a few of the players who have plenty of chips.
