Hand Analysis with Daniel Dvoress from the EPT Barcelona Main Event
The European Poker Tour Barcelona festival comes to a conclusion today with the last of the side events playing out and both the €5K EPT Barcelona Main Event and €10K EPT Barcelona High Roller scheduled to finish today.
Among the players making deep runs in the Main Event was poker pro and RunItOnce instructor Daniel Dvoress who yesterday was stopped in 31st place for a €32,125 cash. A regular on the EPT, Dvoress ended the last season strongly with multiple cashes in both Malta and Monaco, including a third-place finish in the €10K EPT Malta High Roller for which he earned €263,000.
During his Main Event run, Dvoress took time during a break in play to talk to PokerNews' Sarah Herring about an interesting hand he had just played, one that began with the Canadian defending his big blind with a call holding small suited connectors. He then picks up a draw on the turn and attempts a semi-bluff at the pot, getting called.
The river brings a brick and a tricky spot for Dvoress looking at a nearly 1 million-chip pot and holding an unimproved hand that is surely beaten. Watch and listen to how Dvoress describes the hand and his decision-making:
