Biography

Mark Checkwicz is an American poker player from Springfield, Massachusetts, best known for winning the $5,000 Seniors High Roller event at the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas.

Before his bracelet win, Checkwicz had two five-figure cashes on his record. Checkwicz collected $25,986 for a victory in a $500 No-Limit Hold'em event in the Foxwoods Mega Stack Challenge in December 2014. He won $13,568 after winning another $500 No-Limit Hold'em event at Foxwoods in January 2022.

Checkwicz cashed in the $1,000 Super Seniors event at the 2024 WSOP before winning the $5,000 Seniors High Roller, a result that came with $573,876 and his first WSOP bracelet.
