Johnny Lodden is a seasoned poker player from Norway, recognized for his skill and consistency in both live and online poker tournaments. Known for his solid and aggressive playstyle, Lodden was one of the most well-known players in the European poker community.
Lodden made a name for himself in the early 2000s, initially competing online before transitioning to live poker. His journey has seen him earn numerous tournament titles and deep finishes in prestigious events such as the World Series of Poker (WSOP) and the European Poker Tour (EPT).
Lodden on the European Poker Tour
The two largest scores of Lodden's poker career both came on the European Poker Tour, and both came in the EPT Monte Carlo Main Event. These results, as well as his longevity on the tour — he regularly played on the tour from 2006 until 2022 — made him one of the most recognizable European poker players around.
2013 EPT Monte Carlo Main Event
There were some big names at the final table of the 2013 EPT Monte Carlo Main Event, arguably one of the toughest final tables in EPT history. Featuring no fewer than four PokerStars Team Pros made the final table, with Jason Mercier and Jake Cody eyeing up a second EPT title, and poker legend Daniel Negreanu eyeing up a Triple Crown.
Lodden battled his way to third place, outlasting all of them, and engaged in fierce three-handed battle with Andrew Pantling and eventual champion Steve O'Dwyer.
