John Fauver is an American poker player from West Virginia, who is best known for winning the inaugural $10,000 Big O Championship at the 2024 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.
Fauver's first recorded live poker tournament score, according to The Hendon Mob Database, came in February 2021 in a $535 buy-in No-Limit Hold'em event at Maryland Live! Casino. Fauver cashed more than 30 times at the same venue in the 12 months after first cashing there.
Fauver cashed three times at the 2021 WSOP in Las Vegas, including two Pot-Limit Omaha events.
In February 2022, Fauver helped himself to his first five-figure prize, $16,700, after winning a $1,100 No-Limit Hold'em tournament.
A third-place finish in a $2,200 PLO side event at the WPT Seminole Rock 'N' Roll Poker Open earned Fauver $16,695 in November 2022.
Fauver enjoyed a surge in for in January 2024, finishing second in a $1,100 PLO Hi-Lo 8 or Better event for $12,350, winning a $600 PLO Deep Stack for a career-high $41,575, and taking down a $1,100 Mixed PLO tournament for $17,410, all at the 2024 Lucky Hearts Poker Open.
In March, Fauver entered a $15,000 PLO event, part of the 2024 PGT PLO Series, where he finished seventh for $49,800.
Fauver won Event #37: $10,000 Big O Championship at the 2024 WSOP, earning $681,998 and his first WSOP bracelet.
