Hamid Dastmalchi is an Iranian-American poker player who won the 1992 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event.
Over the course of his career he made seven WSOP final tables and won three WSOP bracelets.
He also made the final table of the 1995 WSOP Main Event, finishing fourth.
Biography
Dastmalchi won his first WSOP bracelet in 1986, winning a $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em side event for $165,000.
In 1992, he entered the WSOP Main Event, defeating a field of 201 players to win $1,000,000. This was the first year where there were fewer participants in the Main Event than the prior year.
Former WSOP Champions Johnny Chan and Jack Keller made it to the final table, finishing seventh and eighth respectively.
Dastmalchi would add a third bracelet in 1993.
