Biography

Farzad Bonyadi is an Iranian-born poker player based in California. He is a four-time World Series of Poker bracelet-winner.

Biography

Bonyadi moved to the United States from Iran in 1983. He won his first WSOP bracelet in 1998 in a $2,000 Limit Hold'em event for $429,940. He regularly cashed at the WSOP during the early 2000s and eventually picked up his second bracelet in 2004 after winning the $1,000 Deuce to Seven Triple Draw.

The following year saw Bonyadi win his third title in $2,500 No Limit Hold'em for $594,960, with Bonyadi also making a deep run in that year's Main event, eventually finishing 41st for $235,390.

The largest cash of Bonyadi's career would come in 2011 when he finished second to Scott Seiver in the World Poker Tour World Championship for $1,061,900.

Bonyadi would continue to attend the WSOP during the 2010s, cashing in both the 2017 and 2018 Main Event. In 2018, Bonyadi's mother, Farhintaj Bonyadi, won the $1,000 Super Seniors No Limit Hold'em event. This achievement meant they were the first mother/son combination to ever win WSOP bracelets.

"I think I played a good game, I really do," he told PokerNews. "I bluffed when I had to. I caught good cards too, but I think I played a good game. It feels good to know you're not that rusty."
