Thanks to a $907,132 score for finishing in second place, Brandes vaulted over the seven-figure mark in live career earnings and made a name for himself among both players and fans after his final table was live-streamed on PokerGO.
What they may not have realized is that Brandes, who now resides in Vienna, Austria, is actually an accomplished high-stakes PLO cash player, and he showed off his skills by navigating a 264-entry field to make the final table alongside the likes of Josh Arieh (3rd - $644,365), Sam Stein (4th - $465,717), and Scott Ball (5th - $342,590).
