Even Benton is an American poker player hailing from Louisiana, best known for winning Event #28: $1,500 Freezeout No-Limit Hold'em at the 2024 World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas.
Benton first played poker when he was 12 years old but never took the game seriously. However, playing home games with his friends in late 2022, Benton developed a love for the game and decided to not only play more poker but put in the hours studying away from the tables.
Benton stepped into the live poker world in January 2024, cashing in a $400 buy-in No-Limit Hold'em tournament at The Beau Rivage Heater Poker Tournament in Biloxi. Less than a week later, he finished fifth in a $500 buy-in Mystery Bounty tournament at the same festival, earning $13,501. A handful of other cashes followed before Benton flew to Las vegas for the 2024 WSOP.
He cashed in the $800,000 No-Limit Hold'em DeepStack event for $2,324 on June 5, and entered the $1,500 Freezeout No-Limit Hold'em event five days later. Benton outlasted 2,316 opponents on his way to banking $412,484 and his first WSOP bracelet.
