Bryn Kenney Background
Originally from Long Beach, New York, Bryn Kenney started life as a Magic: The Gathering player. By 14, Kenney was No. 1 in the world at Magic: The Gathering for ages 15 and under.
Following David Williams’ runner-up finish at the 2004 WSOP Main Event, Kenney and some of his competitors turned their attention to poker.
“Everyone in Magic was like, ‘Shit! If he can win $3.5 million, then I’m sure I can too,’" Kenney told PokerNews in 2019. "There’s not really any money in Magic, so that was when I thought, ‘I’ve got to play poker.'"
Starting out as an online grinder, Kenney was then staked to play at the Commerce Casino in Los Angeles, turning $20,000 into $1 million in just over a month.
Over the course of his career he has amassed an astonishing poker resume that includes a WSOP bracelet and multiple seven-figure scores as he emerged as one of the best high stakes poker players of his day.
He became the all-time money list leader in 2019 and currently sits atop the ranking with over $65 million in tournament earnings.

Bryn Kenney Triton Million
In August 2019, Kenney entered the Triton Million.
The tournament was invite-only, with non-professionals allowed to buy in for £1 million and invite one professional to the tournament.
Pros and non-pros were initially kept separate before the fields combined and the tournament played down to a winner.
Eventually, the tournament was won by Aaron Zhang for £13,779,491 ($16,754,497). However, due to Kenney holding over five times the chips when the pair made a heads-up deal, the American received more despite coming second. He took home £16,890,509 ($20,537,187).
This remains the largest prize in tournament poker history.

Then in August 2023, Kenney reached the mountaintop once again. At the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series in London, the American triumphed in the series' $250,000 Luxon Invitational for his second-biggest score of $6,860,000.
Bryn Kenney Controversies
In April 2022, in a Twitter thread, Martin Zamani alleged that Kenney was guilty of running a cult-like online poker cheating operation.
The allegations were that Kenney hired multiple players to work together as a group to collude in online poker games. It also allegedly involved real-time assistance (RTA) and ghosting. Zamani says that the group cheated others out of potentially millions of dollars.
The cult-like operation meant that members were told to obey Kenney’s demands which included eating a Vegan diet, playing only certain tournaments and participating in shamanic rituals that involved frog poison.
In a subsequent interview with PokerNews, Kenney denied the accusations and offered his side of the story, calling it “one of the craziest things he’s heard in his life”.
