56 | Adam Owen joins the show. |
21 | Adam discusses how his friends help bring him up in no-limit hold’em as he is more of a mixed game specialist. “I’m fortunate enough to have some really talented hold’em friends and they kind of bring me up a little bit to their level.” |
05 | Adam explains that when he started playing poker, surprisingly no-limit hold’em was not his primary focus. “I was in a home game group with friends in school in the UK. We played hold’em initially, but we eventually found all the games… We ended up playing a mix of H.O.R.S.E and triple draw.” |
33 | Bernard explains how he met Adam at the 2015 WSOP, centered around 2-7 Single Draw No-Limit. |
47 | Adam discusses being drafted very high in the $25,000 Poker Fantasy Draft prior to the 2018 WSOP. “I think I was (drafted) 6th overall, which was extremely flattering.” |
18 | Adam recalls his difficult 2018 WSOP, playing easily over 50 events. “I remember I bricked 35 or 36 events in a row.” |
56 | Adam discusses how he felt during this difficult run during the 2018 WSOP and how he got through it. “I did feel some of the pressure to be honest after being drafted really high.” |
19 | Adam discusses the good and bad of staying at the Rio for the entire WSOP for seven weeks. |
03 | Adam explains how he decides his daily playing schedule at the WSOP and whether he will late register for an event. “Ideally, I’d play the 11 a.m. event and see how that goes. If not, I’ll jump in the 3 p.m. And if not, see what’s on at Aria or more likely the Venetian.” |
47 | Adam explains that “winning the $50,000 Poker Player’s Championship would be the ultimate pinnacle.” |
07 | Adam lists his favorite two mixed games: 2-7 Single Draw No-Limit and Razz. “I built my bankroll playing 2-7 single draw heads-up sit-n-go’s against some guys who didn’t know the rules.” |
11 | Adam divulges his least favorite game: Omaha Hi-Lo. “Most definitely, Omaha Hi-Lo. A lot of people just assume I’m good at the game because it’s a staple of all mixed games, but it just hasn't really clicked yet. I have worked hard at it relatively speaking. It doesn’t come naturally to me.” |

54 | Adam describes the WSOP circuit event that he won at Harvey’s Lake Tahoe. “I cashed one of the other flights (but busted prior to bagging), and I got to come back the next day. I re-entered and ran insanely hot.” |
31 | Adam describes how he played and took advantage of his big stack late in the WSOP circuit event that he won. “When you have a lot of chips, you should be looking for reasons to put chips into the pot. When it seems like a close open, it’s probably better to err on the side of aggression, rather than the side of caution.” |
02 | Adam recalls the heads-up battle versus Shawn Van Asdale. |
56 | Adam was extremely happy to win the WSOP Circuit ring, although the WSOP bracelet is the holy grail. |
08 | Adam discusses his schedule on and off the felt for the remainder of 2018. |
38 | Adam recalls oversleeping Day 2 of the WSOP Circuit ring event that he eventually won. “It was crazy. I was forty minutes late, but it cost me about 30 minutes of playing time and my stack went from 750k to 700k.” |
