What is the Life Outside Poker Podcast?
Life Outside Poker is a new, in-depth poker podcast hosted by Connor Richards that launched in March 2024. The show features PokerNews' very own Connor going one-on-one with a wide array of guests for in-depth conversations about life in and outside of poker. It seeks to pull back the curtain on poker players and allow viewers and listeners to get to know them personally.
A new Life Outside Poker is released every other Tuesday at 8a PT / 4p UK time.

The PokerNews Podcast is hosted by a trio of players and personalities that account for two WSOP gold bracelets, seven gold rings, two WSOP.com Online Player of the Year titles, an MSPT POY title, and more than $1.8 million in combined live tournament winnings.
The PokerNews Podcast also often sports guest hosts, such as Joey Ingram, Jamie Kerstetter, and Johnnie "Vibes" Moreno.
Chad Holloway
A Wisconsin native now living in Las Vegas who has worked in the poker industry since 2009, Chad Holloway has years of experience as host of the PokerNews Podcast. He also serves as PR & Media Manager for PokerNews, where he acts as a liaison for players, venues, and poker fans.
In 2013, Holloway claimed a gold bracelet in the WSOP Employees Event for $84,915, and in 2019, he won the inaugural Poker Industry Championship.
He has worked at poker events all around the world, including the Aussie Millions, Latin American Poker Tour, European Poker Tour (EPT), and many more. He previously served as the Media Director of the-States Poker Tour (MSPT) and was the Editor-in-Chief of MSPT Magazine.
An avid comic collector and diehard fan of the Miami Dolphins, Holloway writes a nationally syndicated poker column and is known for tweeting unique poker-related thrift store finds throughout Las Vegas.
Mike Holtz
Mike "BrockLesnar" Holtz is a poker player from Ocean City, MD, and is the reigning WSOP Online Player of the Year. He’s won that title twice – 2021 and 2023. He also holds the record for most cashes at a single WSOP, with 25 cashes in 2023. He has six WSOP Online Circuit rings and a WSOP Online Bracelet from winning the 2022 WSOP Online Event #17: $777 NLH Lucky 7’s for $76,157.
Holtz has just over $500K in career cashes, according to The Hendon Mob, with his highest score coming in a live event at the Venetian in February of 2023.
Since March 2024, Holtz is one of the regular sidekicks of the filmed PokerNews Podcast from the studios in Las Vegas.
Kyna England
Kyna England is an American poker player with over $800,000 in career earnings who was named the 2021 Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) Player of the Year.
She can be seen on the first season of GGPoker's Game of Gold, a poker reality competition on the GGPoker YouTube channel.
England, originally from Illinois, enjoyed a breakout year in 2021 after leaving her job in the insurance industry to pursue a professional poker career. She finished third in the MSPT Riverside Main Event for $73,782 and later finished third in the WPT Venetian Main Event for $448,755. She followed that up later that year with victory in the MSPT Canterbury Park Main Event for $186,709.

Life Outside Poker is a new podcast for PokerNews hosted by Connor Richards that seeks to pull back the curtain on poker players and allow viewers and listeners to get to know them on a personal level.
Connor Richards is an American poker player from Utah and an Editor & Live Reporter for PokerNews.
Connor Richards is an Editor & Live Reporter for PokerNews and host of the Life Outside Poker podcast. He holds a master's degree in data journalism from Stanford University and a bachelor's degree in communication from the University of Utah.
Connor started reporting with PokerNews at the 2021 World Series of Poker and has covered events including the 2023 WSOP Main Event, PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) and the PokerStars Players Championship (PSPC).
Connor has been nominated for two Global Poker Awards for his writing.
