Prague, the capital of Czech Republic, is one of the most beautiful cities on the planet, especially during the winter months when it can be covered in a blanket of snow. While the temperatures in Prague will be cold right now, from Nov. 29 to Dec. 6, the poker action will be red hot thanks to the partypoker WPT Prague Festival of Poker heading to town.

The Grandior Hotel Prague hosts the partypoker WPT Prague Festival of Poker and is preparing to make it a festival to remember. Eight poker tournaments are on the official schedule and feature buy-ins ranging from €250 up to €5,300.

Kicking off the festival on Nov. 29 is a €110 Deepstack satellite and a €750 Deepstack event. Other events taking place include a €550 pot-limit Omaha tournament, a €250 no-limit hold’em turbo side event, a €5,300 High Roller and the eagerly anticipated €3,300 WPT Prague Main Event.

The WPT Prague Main Event runs from Dec. 2-6 and costs €3,300 to enter. For that princely sum, players receive 30,000 tournament chips and play to levels that increase every 60 minutes, reducing to 30 minutes when the tournament reaches the heads-up stage.

Players are permitted to make one re-entry and late registration is left open until the beginning of Day 2.

When the WPT Prague Main Event ran in 2015, a total of 256 entries were processed, which generated a prize pool of €773,824. The lion’s share of this prize pool went to Spain’s Javier Gomez who won €175,000 and a seat to the WPT Tournament of Champions.
