The ever-popular 888Live tournament returns to the heart of the English capital, London, between August 25. and August 28., and it is a live poker event not to be missed.

888Live Local London is a £220 buy-in event (with an £88,000 guaranteed prize pool) where players sit down with 25,000 tournament chips, and have a choice of three starting flights, with one re-entry allowed per Day 1. Aspers Casino in Stratford is the venue; its vast poker room and awesome location make it perfect for tournaments such as this.

To let you know the usual size and prizes of the 888live London Main Event, cast your mind back to August 2016 when Sam Acheampong topped a field of 564-entrants to get his hands on the winner’s trophy and £21,950.

Previously, in March, Ralph Baylor won £22,500 after outlasting 567 opponents, with 888poker ambassador Kara Scott finishing third for £10,250.

Although the buy-in is an affordable £220, there are multiple ways to qualify for 888Live London, and here are the best of them.

How to Qualify for 888Live Local London: Online at 888poker

With 888Live, as the name suggests, being 888poker’s live tournament series, it is possible to win your way to the 888Live London Main Event online from as little as $0.01.

Head to the Live Events tab of the 888poker tournament lobby and you will find a number of tournaments named Step 1, Step 2, and so on. Step 1 tournaments cost a paltry cent to enter. These tournaments award a Step 2 ticket for every $0.10 in the prize pool, which in turn feed into Step 3 etc.

Step 2$0.10One Step 3 ticket for every $1 in the prize pool
Step 3$1One Step 4 ticket for every $5 in the prize pool
Step 4$5One Step 5 ticket for every $30 in the prize pool
Step 5$30One 888Live London Local Event Ticket for every $285 in the prize pool

You can enter the Step qualifiers at any stage, so if your bankroll is low you may want to jump in at the first couple of steps, but if you’re feeling flush, perhaps you could dive straight into the $30 buy-in Step 5 and see if you can win your $285 (£220) entry.

How to Qualify for 888Live Local London: Live at Aspers Casino

With Aspers being the live casino partner of 888poker, it makes perfect sense for Aspers to run live satellites into the £88,000 guaranteed 888Live Local London Main Event, which is exactly what they do.

Aspers is committed to running at least one live satellite each week, but it is worth checking with the casino’s poker room to see when, what format (rebuy, re-entry, etc.), and what buy-in the satellite is this week.

How to Qualify for 888Live Local London: Grind Out Your Buy-in

Why not set yourself a bankroll building challenge in the run up to the 888Live Local London Main Event, and see if you can literally win your way to the Aspers-based tournament?

By playing the juicy cash games, SNAP (fast-fold) Poker, the recently launched BLAST tournaments, or the massive selection of scheduled multi-table tournaments, you could win enough at the tables to buy into the 888Live Local London Main Event direct.

The perfect way to kick start your personal bankroll challenge would be to take advantage of the free $88 (free £20 for UK residents) that all new 888poker players receive for signing up for an account via PokerNews links.

Then take advantage of the free $20 offer by making a deposit of $20 or more using the bonus code POKERNEWS20, and then to complete a trio of freebies, make another deposit knowing it will be matched 100% up to an industry-leading $888!
