On February 22, 2016, sites on the iPoker Network, including Ladbrokes, began spreading the exciting hold’em variant known as Six-Plus Hold’em.

From a distance, Six-Plus Hold’em looks like the traditional hold’em that we all know and love, but it is actually played with a stripped deck of 36 cards because all of the 2x, 3x, 4, and 5x are removed, leaving only 6x through Ax.

This stripped deck makes for a much faster-paced and exciting playing experience, one where the traditional hand rankings differ. Six-Plus Hold’em hands are ranked as shown below, in order of weakest to strongest:

  • High card
  • One pair
  • Two pair
  • Straight
  • Three of a kind
  • Full house
  • Flush
  • Four of a kind
  • Straight flush
  • Royal flush

If you have not tried playing Six-Plus Hold’em at Ladbrokes, now is the time to change that fact because the €30K Summer Rivers promotion is in full swing; in fact, it has to end on August 28, 2016.

There is a feature exclusive to Six Plus Hold’em tables that stores every river card you’re dealt at the tables into a jackpot bank. This means you can collect river cards, three at a time, to form winning combinations and receive entries to freeroll tournaments.

For example, if three of your hands reach the river, and the river cards are 6, 6, and 6, you will have three of a king and therefore qualify for a prize. If those three river cards were 6, 9, K then you haven’t made a hand so win nothing.

The €25,000 Summer Rivers is an all-in freeroll that takes place at 5:00 p.m. GMT on August 28, with the €5,000 Summer Rivers also being an all-in freeroll taking place on August 28, but at the slightly later time of 5:15 p.m.

Standard Texas hold'em games also have this feature, but Six Plus plays faster and often generates more action, therefore making seeing the river more likely
