One hundred million is a gargantuan number and it is also the number of poker accounts created at Full Tilt since the online poker site first opened its virtual doors 12 years ago.

The 100 millionth Full Tilt account was recently created at Full Tilt and the Amaya-owned company is celebrating the fact by giving away $100 worth of tournament tickets to one lucky customer who manages to answer at least one question correctly from its simple quiz.

While some online poker sites have struggled to get off the ground, Full Tilt exploded into activity when it launched in July 2004 and quickly became the go-to site for thousands of poker players. One of the reasons for Full Tilt’s immediate success was excellent player-friendly software and the many innovations that were first launched at the site, which later became industry standards.

Players new to online poker will never have to experience having to manually top-up their stacks in cash games thanks to Full Tilt implementing the auto top-up feature. We can’t stress enough how tilting it used to be to lose half of your stack and then be dealt pocket aces the very next hand!

Synchronised breaks are also part and parcel of online poker thanks to Full Tilt. Never again will online poker tournament players have to "do an Esfandiari" or struggle to the bathroom with their laptops in tow because every tournament on the internet now pauses for a five-minute break at 55-minutes past the hour. Sometimes it is the simple things in life that make the biggest different.

Other Full Tilt first include the introduction of 10-Game Mix when every other site seemed happy only spreading Hold’em, Omaha, and Stud variants, ICM-based tournament deals, and perhaps the biggest of them all, the creation of the original fast-fold poker variant Rush Poker.

As Full Tilt says on its site, "imitation really is the highest form of flattery."
