The Unibet Open festival heads to the sunny French Riviera next week for the third leg of its 2013 season. It promises to be one to remember!
Unibet Open Cannes 2013 takes place Sept. 19 through 22 at the glamorous Casino Barrière Le Croisette, and Unibet is putting out all of the stops to make this particular stop one of the best ever. The reason Unibet is so eager to make the Unibet Open Cannes 2013 so special is it will be the 25th edition of the Unibet Open — quite the landmark for the popular tour.
As with previous Unibet Open Main Events, Unibet Open Cannes costs €1,650 to enter (€1,500 +€150). For that sum of money, players can expect a superb atmosphere and one of the most fun and exciting tournaments of 2013 – and let’s not forget about the legendary Unibet Open players' party!
The Main Event aside, there is also a €2,500 High Roller event to get your teeth into, with satellites for the event running all week at the Casino Barrière Le Croisette. A high roller tournament full of satellite players and our French cousins sounds like heaven to us!
The most recent Unibet Open (in Troia, Portugal) attracted a crowd of 242 players, creating a prize pool of €363,000. More than €80,187 of that found its way into the bank account of Russia’s Dmitry Varlamov who defeated Mateusz Moolhuizen heads-up to claim the title of Unibet Open Troia champion.
Organizers believe Unibet Open Cannes will have an even more substantial turnout and have capped the event at 450 players. If this cap is reached, we can expect a first place prize of around €145,000!
