'Satyr' Wins the €5,000 Unibet Championship Rake Race
The €13,000 Unibet RaceTrack promotion has been completed after the second and final $5,000 Championship Rake Race came to a thrilling conclusion. The player who finished at the top of the standings at the end of the month-long rake race was "Satyr," who picked up the €1,000 first place prize.
The €5,000 Championship Rake Race took place throughout October and saw dozens of PokerNews players take to the Unibet virtual felt in an attempt to accumulate as many points as possible during the month. "Satyr," our eventual champion, ran away with the competition and generated a massive total of 58,082 points, which put Satyr almost 20,000 points in front of runner-up "thak1ng" and more than 45,000 ahead of the third place finisher "GyPsyKiiinG".
As the promotion’s end drew ever closer, the race to make it into the money places became a hard-fought contest indeed. Spare a thought for "PEARLHARBOR," who accumulated 828 points and finished in 31st, the promotion’s equivalent of a tournament’s money bubble. "PEARLHARBOR" only just missed out on a €75 windfall because 30th placed "bunkers28’s" monthly points total was 874, meaning "bunkers28" had raked less than $5 more than PEARLHARBOR and scraped into the money.
