How Much Did This One-Outer in Super High Roller Bowl Cost the Foxens?

A fateful turn card on Day 2 of the $100,000 buy-in Super High Roller Bowl XI in Las Vegas cost the Foxen household hundreds of thousands of dollars in equity.
Alex Foxen was the victim of a brutal one-outer at the hands of fellow American high-stakes pro Nick Petrangelo on the stone money bubble of the six-figure high roller inside PokerGO Studio. But the real victim was Kristen Foxen, who was the short stack at the time and in prime shape to sneak into the money.
Instead, the six-time WSOP bracelet winner was eliminated shortly after to miss out on a $215,000 payout and any shot at rallying to win the trophy and top prize of $1,125,000.
Bad Beat for Foxen Family
The Super High Roller Bowl XI in Las Vegas drew 28 entrants for a prize pool of $2,800,000.
Alex Foxen held a runaway chip lead with six players left and only five places paid, and it looked like his lead would only increase as Petrangelo four-bet jammed with pocket sixes to be far behind his pocket tens.
A six had been folded preflop, so Petrangelo was drawing to a single immediate out before the board ran out A♠9♠9♦6♦7♠ to give him sixes full.
It was a mere flesh wound for Alex Foxen, who still ended up bagging the Day 2 chip lead as he looks for his 14th PokerGO Tour (PGT) title. But for Kristen Foxen, it was fatal.
"A brutal one for Alex, and for that matter Kristen, who certainly post-flop thought she was going to sneak in the money," noted PokerGO commentator Ali Nejad.
A few hands later, "krissyb24" was sent out by Brandon Wilson as her ace-eight couldn't pull ahead of Wilson's pocket nines.
High Roller Action
Day 2 wasn't all bad for the Foxens. Earlier in the tournament, PokerNews caught video of Kristen Foxen all in with ace-king against queens and spiking a king on the river to double through Joao Simao.
Not long after, Alex Foxen flopped a set with queens to crack the aces of Jason Koon and send this year's Poker Hall of Fame inductee to the rail.
In addition to Alex Foxen, Wilson and Petrangelo, who is fresh off a $2.2 million victory in the Triton Jeju $150,000 10th Anniversary Special, the final five includes high-stakes poker vlogger Jeremy Ausmus and Adrian Mateos. Mateos currently has a runaway lead on the GPI 2026 Money List with $15 million in cashes.
Day 3 of the SHRB XI kicks off at 1 p.m. local time and will be live streamed by PokerGO starting at 3 p.m.
