Texas Poker Room Robbery

Three masked men are on the loose after allegedly robbing a Northern Texas poker room on Christmas Eve.

The dangerous incident at Johny’s Social Card Club in Wichita Falls, according to police, took place at 3:45 a.m. All suspects, none of whom have been identified by name, were masked up and difficult to identify. No one was physically harmed as the incident took place while the card room was closed.

Surveillance video shows the three suspects arriving at the poker club in a gray Kia Telluride, a new-model SUV. They are said to have broken into the business where they stole cash from the ATM machine before exiting the establishment.

All three alleged criminals are still on the loose two weeks later, and it appears investigators don't have any concrete leads. But police did release some surveillance photos that aren't clear and only show a minimal description of one suspect, who appears to be a medium-built male under six-feet tall.

The Kia license plate also isn't visible in the photos released, and it's unclear if police have that information.

Johny’s Social Card Club is a five-table poker room in Northern Texas, about two hours west of Choctaw Resort and Casino in Durant, Oklahoma, one of the top card rooms in the area, and also a strong lobby against legalized gambling in neighboring Texas.

This isn't the first robbery, or attempted robbery, that has occurred in a Texas poker room in recent years. Legends Poker Room in Houston, has seen multiple similar incidents, including one heroic situation where the club's security guard foiled an armed robbery in January 2022.

Wichita Falls Crime Stoppers is asking the community for any tips — anonymous or otherwise — that may lead to the arrest of the wanted suspects. Those with any knowledge of the poker room robbery can drop a tip at wcfcrime.com or call (940) 322-9888.
