Hard Rock Hollywood

The Seminole Hardrock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood Florida and the Charity Series of Poker (CSOP) is hosting a charity tournament and social on January 16, 2025. The event will be an unusual mixed event, combining poker with blackjack.

The event is called the All In for St. Jude Social and all proceeds from the tournament and social will go to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital — a specialist hospital in Memphis, Tennessee that focuses on research and treatment of cancers in children.

An Evening of Poker and Blackjack

The event will kick off with a social gathering, starting at 5 p.m. The tournament then begins at 7 p.m. and costs $300 to enter.

Tickets for the social gathering by itself are $250. Alternatively, you can buy a ticket to both the tournament and the social for the discounted price of $500.

The tournament has a grand prize of $5,000 and there will also be additional final table prizes as well as bounties on the player's heads and a silent auction beforehand.

The social portion of the evening will involve canapes, an open bar, and the silent auction followed by a speech from a patient who was helped through their childhood cancer by St. Jude.

All In For St. Jude

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is a charity that runs largely on donations and fundraising efforts like this event. The hospital then uses these donations to fund the treatment and research of children's cancers.

Last year, it was ranked as the third biggest charity in the U.S. by Forbes Magazine magazine, having raised $2.57 billion in private donations during 2024 alone.

The Hard Rock Hollywood's poker room has played host to numerous high-profile events including World Poker Tour and World Series of Poker Circuit festivals. So, it is well situated to host an event like this. This was something that Ted McNamara — the Event Chair for the tournament and CEO/President of Les Murphy Enterprises, Inc. — was keen to point out.

"We are thrilled to host this poker/blackjack tournament and bring the community together for a night of fun and philanthropy," McNamara said.. "Every hand played helps support St. Jude and ensures that families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment."

If you are in Florida in January and would like to take part, tickets are available the St. Jude website.
